Will tuition and/or the non-resident fee for the Fall 2020 semester be adjusted based on whether my class load is largely in-person or online?
Tuition rates are set by our state governing body per credit hour, and are not different for online courses versus traditional “seat” classes. Non-resident tuition is charged based on the residency status of the student, not based on where the student is located when receiving academic instruction.
My family has been impacted financially by COVID-19. Can my financial aid offer for 2020-21 be re-evaluated?
The Office of Financial Aid can review individual circumstances through a process called “Professional Judgment.” A FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file with the Office of Financial Aid, and additional documentation will be requested. The Office of Financial Aid will evaluate how your family’s financial situation has changed since the original application in order to determine your eligibility for more need-based aid. You may complete the re-evaluation request form here.
Will students be required to pay for a meal plan even if they don’t want to eat in a dining facility?
Polices for meal plans will remain the same: all freshmen assessed for housing are required to purchase a semester meal plan for both Fall and Spring semesters of their freshman year, regardless of Greek affiliation. If a meal plan is not selected, the default meal plan assessment will be the Rebel Unlimited Plus One plan. The RC Unlimited Plus One meal plan is required for all residents of the Residential College, regardless of classification.
Will changes to the academic calendar affect the cost or duration of meal plans?
Meal plans are priced for a semester. As the amended schedule has been approved for the fall semester, there will be no change to meal plan pricing. Meal plans will start on Friday, August 21, 2020 and end on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
For students who wish to move in early (between August 15 and August 20), Rebel Market will be open and operating with an Early Move in meal plan, which is 10 meals for $60. Alternately, if students have a class schedule, their Flex dollars will be loaded to their ID card and can be used for food on campus.
