As part of ongoing planning for the upcoming 2020 semester, the university is issuing a modified fall 2020 academic calendar as part of our efforts to protect the health and safety of the campus community. The modified calendar reflects the university’s efforts to mitigate the potential impact of COVID-19 during the late fall months.
- Classes will begin as currently scheduled on Monday, August 24.
- The last day of classes will be on Tuesday, November 17.
- Final exams will be administered from November 18 through 20 and November 23 through 24.
What about upcoming events?
All university-sponsored events and large on- and off-campus gatherings, including events sponsored by any registered student organizations, have been canceled or postponed until further notice. See the university’s Events protocols.
All registered student organization events are canceled or postponed until further notice. This includes in-person meetings, events involving travel, off-campus events, on-campus events, tournaments, conferences, etc. Additionally, no events will be approved until further notice.
2020 Commencement ceremonies have been postponed to an unspecified future date. A final decision will be driven by public health considerations, depending on how the virus spreads. One way or another, we will find a way to recognize and celebrate the significant achievements of the members of the Class of 2020.
