Facilities

Facilities Management has adjusted building HVAC systems to maximize ventilation in campus buildings based on guidance from the CDC.  Where appropriate and not otherwise constrained by system limitations, Facilities Management has taken the following actions:

  • HVAC operating schedules have been adjusted to run at least two hours before and after the building is occupied.
  • Outside air ventilation has been increased to the maximum level possible (where acceptable indoor air temperature and humidity can still be maintained) in order to reduce the amount of recirculated air.
  • Existing UV disinfection systems in HVAC units have been checked to ensure they are operating correctly.
  • HVAC air filter efficiencies have been increased to MERV 13 or the maximum MERV rating supported by the system.
